The client seeks an AVP, Financial Systems to help transform and optimize its financial systems infrastructure, with a primary focus on Workday Financials and related tools including Adaptive, Prism, and Extend. This is a hands-on role supporting a global finance organization by designing, building, and supporting scalable solutions that improve reporting speed, data quality, and analytics capabilities.
Key responsibilities include designing, developing, and supporting the Workday financial ecosystem; partnering with Finance, Accounting, FP&A, and IT stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions; building and maintaining complex financial reports, dashboards, and custom applications; and supporting integrations to ensure data accuracy across platforms and source systems. The role also includes identifying opportunities for automation (including AI) to reduce manual processes, developing documentation for system design and reporting rules, establishing metrics to evaluate system performance and process efficiency, and supporting user training, adoption, issue remediation, and continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field and 5–6+ years of relevant experience with strong exposure to financial systems and Workday Financials. They should have deep technical expertise in Workday business processes, calculated fields, reporting, security, and validations, with Workday Prism and/or Adaptive strongly preferred, as well as a strong understanding of finance processes (such as R2R, P2P, O2C, FP&A, tax, and controllership). The role expects strong communication and collaboration across finance and IT stakeholders, experience supporting global or distributed teams, and the ability to operate as a plug-and-play contributor in a fast-paced, lean environment.
