The Auditor General for Wales is seeking a Chief Executive and Audit Accounting Officer to lead Audit Wales in providing objective feedback on the spending of public money in Wales. This role involves overseeing a team of around 280 staff and managing a budget of 28.4 million to ensure that public money is used legally and effectively. The successful candidate will need to maintain complete independence from the Government to provide assurance to the Senedd and the people of Wales.As the Chief Executive, the individual will be responsible for shaping and delivering the organization's strategy, promoting high-quality evidence-based public audit work. They will work with stakeholders across Wales and beyond to instill confidence in public services and ensure that public money is used in ways that offer value for money.
