Description

The client is seeking an Associate Vice President of Facilities Operations to lead the upkeep and maintenance of healthcare facilities, support growth strategies, strengthen infrastructure capabilities, and drive sustainability initiatives. The role is expected to develop a roadmap that helps minimize carbon footprint, improve energy efficiency, and reduce operating costs, while also planning for the future availability and sustainability of the skilled trades workforce.

Key responsibilities include overseeing Facilities Operations departments such as General Maintenance and Skilled Trades, Grounds, Engineering, Plant Operations, Fleet Management, Energy Management, and Expense/Routine Project Management. The associate vice president will develop and execute strategic plans aligned with system priorities and stakeholders, help shape standards for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment, manage the infrastructure capital pool, and participate in design and scoping for major capital projects with an emphasis on sustainable engineering.

The position will ensure compliance with applicable healthcare accreditation and regulatory requirements, hospital policies and procedures, fire safety codes, hazardous material regulations, and construction codes, while also adhering to relevant state licensing and federal safety and facilities design regulations. It will collaborate with facilities project delivery teams to align design with performance, ongoing maintenance and cost of ownership, and sustainability priorities; oversee systemwide routine projects; and provide strategic operational leadership, including building an effective team structure, developing trade and leadership competencies, and maintaining a safe and efficient working environment for clinical and business operations.
