the client seeks a strategic, collaborative, and enterprise-minded financial executive to serve as the inaugural Associate Vice President for Finance and Chief Financial Officer (AVP/CFO) for the medical school and the office of academic clinical affairs (OACA). Reporting directly to the Executive Vice President for Health Affairs and Dean of the Medical School (EVPHA/Dean), with a dotted line report to the Executive Vice President for Finance and Operations, the AVP/CFO will provide executive leadership for financial strategy, fiscal stewardship, planning, and operations across a complex academic health enterprise. In this matrixed environment, the role will partner with a range of stakeholders, including clinical and basic science department leadership, health sciences leadership, and central finance leadership, to advance alignment across clinical, research, and education missions.
With a broad mandate during a critical period for the client’s health affairs enterprise, the AVP/CFO will help ensure long-term fiscal strength, operational effectiveness, and strategic growth of the School of Medicine and its clinical enterprise. The position is expected to lead efforts that support integrated decision-making across program, clinical, and academic priorities, while strengthening coordination among stakeholders across the health sciences ecosystem. The AVP/CFO will serve as a key executive driver of enterprise-level financial planning and performance, contributing to the overall effectiveness and sustainability of the medical education and clinical operations.
the client’s medical school and OACA provide education, biomedical discovery, and clinical care through an organization that supports major academic and translational initiatives. The AVP/CFO will work within this structure to support the financial stewardship and operational leadership needed to sustain teaching, research, and clinical missions in an interdisciplinary setting.
