The client is seeking an Associate Vice President for Facilities to lead the construction, operations, maintenance, and repair of physical plant assets and improvements. The role oversees campus-wide short- and long-term planning and will direct forward-facing leadership across three campuses, partnering with internal and external stakeholders. Responsibilities include advancing sustainability, managing fleet and strategic real estate programs, and providing overall program leadership for facilities and capital initiatives.
The Associate Vice President for Facilities will support development and implementation of the client’s capital improvement strategy, including leading planning and delivery for a multi-year capital program. The position will steward and exercise fiduciary responsibility for capital funding from operating, bond, grant, philanthropic, and donation sources, and it will support research and adoption of innovative delivery methods, including public-private partnerships. Additional duties include coordinating space allocation, real estate transactions, and strategic development actions such as demolition requests, surplus declaration, acquisitions, leasing, and easements.
The role also encompasses comprehensive facilities operations, including maintenance and repair of campus utilities such as electricity, water, sewer, and stormwater, as well as planning for asset protection and prioritizing energy and water efficiency improvements. The Associate Vice President will establish and maintain relationships with relevant local jurisdictions and will serve as a liaison to state agencies and legislative staff regarding permitting, operations, and funding. Administrative responsibilities include overseeing business operations supporting facilities budgeting and project finance, providing documentation for capital funding requests, administering the fleet program, and collaborating with legal counsel on contracts for real estate, construction, and services.
