The client seeks an Associate Vice Chancellor for Civil Rights (AVC) who will provide strategic leadership and collaborative guidance across the systemwide civil rights enterprise. Reporting to the Vice Chancellor of Human Resources, the AVC leads a centralized team responsible for strategic planning, oversight, support, and resources for university-level Title IX and other civil rights offices, including advisory and operational support for investigations, hearings, resolutions, and whistleblower complaints.
The AVC will serve as an advisor, leader, and change agent, offering systemwide vision and strategic direction for civil rights efforts. This role guides and mentors campus civil rights teams to support the continued implementation of best practices and compliance with applicable state and federal laws and relevant university policies, while serving as an expert resource to campus and system leadership on civil rights matters and compliance.
The AVC will oversee accurate, detailed, and timely information reporting and data management related to civil rights issues and systemwide operations. The position includes leadership of a team of professionals within the Chancellor’s Office, as well as coordination with systemwide senior directors who function as key liaisons and advisors to campus civil rights staff.
