The client seeks an accomplished and strategic Associate Vice Chancellor for Campus Enterprises to lead a major auxiliary services portfolio that shapes the student experience and supports significant non-state revenue generation. The role oversees enterprise functions including dining services, bookstore and retail operations, campus card services, mail services, parking and transportation, shuttle services, vending and concessions, auxiliary marketing, and related activities. Reporting to the Vice Chancellor for Business and Finance, the Associate Vice Chancellor provides both strategic direction and operational leadership across these areas, helping support campus events, enrollment growth, and continuity of operations during emergencies or adverse weather.
The Associate Vice Chancellor will be responsible for service quality, financial performance, budgeting, contract administration, revenue growth, vendor partnerships, and staff leadership. The role collaborates closely with senior leaders across finance, student affairs, facilities, athletics, and enrollment management to align enterprise services with broader institutional priorities. The position involves managing outsourced vendor contracts and service partnerships while ensuring effective coordination across multiple units and stakeholders.
Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, public administration, higher education administration, hospitality management, or a related field, along with seven to ten years of progressively responsible leadership experience in auxiliary services, campus enterprises, hospitality, or a comparably complex multi-unit operation. Candidates should have experience leading multiple service functions, managing budgets, and supervising professional staff, plus strong communication and organizational leadership skills with the ability to engage stakeholders effectively. Preferred qualifications include a master’s or other advanced degree; senior leadership experience at a large public university, research institution, or comparable organization; experience across multiple auxiliary enterprise functions; a demonstrated record of improving service quality, financial performance, and customer satisfaction; and experience with long-range planning, capital projects, or enterprise modernization initiatives.
