The client is seeking an Associate Lawyer to join a boutique practice based in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. The firm supports businesses and individuals with matters including insolvency and restructuring, business law, and business disputes, operating in multiple regional offices. The role will provide a collaborative, collegial work environment with close exposure to Partner-level work and a variety of files.
The Associate Lawyer will manage client cases, draft legal documents, conduct legal research, and support negotiations and dispute resolution. The position is expected to include providing strategic legal advice, preparing matters for court, and representing clients in legal proceedings as needed. The work will typically involve balancing multiple matters while maintaining strong legal judgment and attention to detail.
Candidates are expected to have strong legal research and analytical skills, proficiency in drafting legal documents and agreements, and excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal abilities. Experience or expertise in insolvency, restructuring, and business law is required, and experience in litigation or client dispute resolution is a plus.
