The client is a global nonprofit that partners with governments, NGOs, multilaterals, and funders to use data and evidence to improve lives at scale. It works across multiple countries in Asia and Africa, supporting decisions across the impact journey—from pilot efforts to nationwide scale-ups—using rigorous evidence, practical insights, and technology to overcome barriers such as determining what works, learning and improving, and operating at scale.
The client seeks Associate Directors and Directors as senior leaders who drive mission and strategy at scale. In this role, you are expected to take on expanded organizational, strategic, and client development responsibilities that shape both individual projects and the organization’s broader trajectory. Responsibilities include serving as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for senior counterparts, proactively identifying opportunities, anticipating client needs, advancing engagement origination and proposal development, and representing The client externally through thought leadership and public communications such as written outputs and participation in relevant forums.
You will also oversee project and portfolio execution by leading multiple concurrent projects, managing cross-functional dependencies, anticipating risks, and adjusting priorities in collaboration with internal leadership and functional teams. The role involves maintaining a strong understanding of technical requirements, engaging appropriate internal or external expertise when needed, ensuring the quality and strategic alignment of key deliverables, and communicating proactively with clients and internal stakeholders regarding changes, roadblocks, and delays. You will contribute to financially sustainable regional planning through strategic resource stewardship, reviewing budget design and resource allocation processes, and supporting expectations from funders and organizational growth while building trust with clients.
