Description

The client is seeking an Associate Director of Development to advance fundraising efforts with a focus on cultivating and stewarding relationships in the Pittsburgh community. This frontline role reports to the Chief Advancement Officer and manages a portfolio of individual donors and prospects in the $1,000–$25,000 giving range, while supporting annual fundraising goals through relationship-driven engagement, donor strategy, special events, and stewardship initiatives.

The Associate Director of Development will manage and grow an individual donor pipeline through regular cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship meetings; develop personalized strategies to deepen donor involvement; and partner on donor strategy, pipeline development, and prospect movement. The role also includes serving as a visible representative in the community by building relationships with community leaders and stakeholders, attending local events and programs, and supporting the planning and execution of donor-focused cultivation and stewardship opportunities, including post-event follow-up and communications.

Additional responsibilities include maintaining accurate donor records and engagement activity in the organization’s CRM, tracking fundraising progress, and assisting with proposal development, stewardship reporting, donor correspondence, and other advancement materials as needed. The role requires a bachelor’s degree and typically 7–9 years of professional fundraising experience with direct frontline responsibility, demonstrated success managing donor relationships, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and excellent organizational attention to detail; experience with CRM/database management is expected. Access to reliable transportation and willingness to attend occasional evening and weekend events are required, and experience in the Pittsburgh philanthropic community and with capital campaigns, annual fund management, stewardship strategies, and moves management is preferred.
