The client is seeking an experienced Associate Director, Capital Infrastructure Projects to support a portfolio of investor-owned and public utility clients across Arizona and the Southwest. In this role, you will lead project delivery teams working on major capital infrastructure efforts, including power generation, transmission, distribution, grid modernization, and other strategic utility projects. You will collaborate closely with utility clients and internal account leadership to drive practical, innovative solutions to complex infrastructure and operational challenges.
As a key member of the Commercial Energy Providers team, you will manage consulting and project services across capital project and program delivery, strategic advisory, engineering studies, and financial and contract management. You will also oversee project controls and performance reporting, regulatory compliance and monitoring, grants management support where required, technology transformation, data analytics, risk management, infrastructure expansion, and sustainability and electrification initiatives. You will assess performance, manage risks and issues, communicate project status, and proactively manage stakeholder expectations.
You will lead, manage, and mentor delivery teams across multiple projects and workstreams, including monitoring milestones, evaluating performance, and supporting planning, budgeting, scheduling, and governance. Responsibilities include maintaining project documentation and executive-facing communications, overseeing contracts and change control, establishing key performance indicators and delivery metrics, analyzing program data for trends and opportunities, and developing solutions to address delivery challenges. Required qualifications include being a United States Citizen or United States Permanent Resident, holding a bachelor’s degree in a related discipline, and having at least seven years of post-graduation project management experience specifically within the power utility sector, with demonstrated experience managing physical capital infrastructure or large engineering projects in an electric or gas utility environment and knowledge of the full capital project lifecycle beyond IT project management.
