the client is seeking an experienced Associate Director of CDP & Data Activation to join a growing practice focused on customer data strategy, composable architecture, and cross-channel personalization. This role blends consulting, solution design, and hands-on execution, including leading client engagements, architecting activation strategies, and building audiences within customer engagement platforms. The position also involves presenting first-party data roadmaps to executive stakeholders and configuring activation pipelines to support real-time use cases.
you will work across packaged and composable CDP approaches, using judgment to select the architecture best aligned to each client’s maturity, technology stack, and goals. Collaboration is central: you will partner with teams across data collection, data engineering, user experience, CRM/lifecycle marketing, and paid media to integrate audience strategy and activation across the customer experience. As the practice expands, you may also contribute to team development by helping define frameworks, standards, and delivery excellence in customer data and activation.
key responsibilities include serving as a senior strategic and technical advisor for customer experience, data strategy, personalization, and MarTech transformation; leading executive workshops and discovery sessions; designing and overseeing implementations that unify CRM, web, app, offline, and media data for real-time activation; and owning the data activation layer, including packaged CDPs and composable/reverse ETL and warehouse-to-activation pipelines. you will build and maintain audience segments, manage data flows and marketing platform integrations, advise on MarTech architecture and governance, align stakeholders and manage dependencies to ensure delivery, coordinate cross-functional teams, mentor team members in audience operations and activation QA, and support innovation through reusable frameworks. qualifications include 5+ years in CRM, customer data strategy, or MarTech consulting with 3+ years in a senior client-facing role, strong executive presence, hands-on experience with CDPs, familiarity with composable/reverse ETL tools, expertise in lifecycle marketing strategy and omnichannel journey design, experience managing data integrations across common engagement and media platforms, SQL proficiency for data pipeline work, knowledge of privacy regulations and identity/data collaboration concepts, and a strong track record coordinating teams to deliver complex programs.
