The Associate Dean for Learning and Engagement plays a crucial role in the senior leadership team, working closely with the dean to advance the Library's strategic and operational goals. This position offers an experienced leader the opportunity to shape and elevate the Library's impact in teaching, research, community engagement, and faculty development. Responsibilities include overseeing multiple programs and activities in the Teaching, Research, and Outreach unit and the Creativity and Innovation Services unit, as well as serving as the Library's Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs. The Associate Dean will provide oversight of faculty processes, align faculty governance with University policies, and ensure support for faculty members throughout their careers.Associate Deans are encouraged to think creatively about how library initiatives can align with the broader campus vision, cultivating partnerships across the University to advance institutional priorities. Success in this role requires staying informed about industry trends, maintaining a national presence, and representing the Library in important conversations. The ideal candidate will be a skilled relationship-builder who can effectively communicate with individuals from diverse backgrounds, navigate complex conversations, and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where adaptability is key to success. Coaching and managing a mentoring program for library faculty will be a central aspect of the position, requiring the ability to balance multiple interests and perspectives.
