Description

The client seeks a dynamic and experienced senior human resources leader to serve as Assistant Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer (AVP/CHRO). This executive role provides strategic vision, leadership, and oversight of human resources functions across The client’s campuses and locations, shaping and executing human capital strategies that advance The client’s mission, vision, and strategic priorities while fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and operational effectiveness. The AVP/CHRO serves as a strategic partner to senior leadership on HR matters, offering insights and recommendations that support business performance and organizational change.

The AVP/CHRO is accountable for institution-wide planning and administration of HR activities on the main campus and satellite locations. The role develops and implements HR strategies aligned with the organization’s business goals, mission, and values, and leads the HR function to support organizational growth and transformation. The AVP/CHRO provides leadership for human resources units involved in areas such as classification and compensation, employment and recruitment, employee relations and performance management, records management, benefits and retirement, time and attendance, payroll operations, workforce administration, organizational development, and related employment compliance and program oversight.

Key responsibilities include serving as an advisor to senior executives and leadership bodies on human resources, organizational development, employee engagement, and workforce planning; representing the organization in executive-level decision-making, policy development, and strategic planning; and overseeing the design, implementation, and assessment of University-wide HR policies and programs that support a high-performing workforce. The AVP/CHRO also coordinates with relevant internal roles to protect and manage employee data and works with policy leadership to support the development, review, implementation, and training of HR-related policies. Additional duties include providing HR leadership to support compliance with applicable laws and regulations, chairing or serving on committees and task forces as designated, and serving as the organization’s spokesperson on HR matters to internal and external audiences, including participation in administrative or court-related actions when required.
