the client is seeking an Assistant General Manager – Sales to partner with the General Manager at store level in an international travel retail environment. In this senior role, you will help craft, lead, and deliver approved location-specific sales and productivity strategies aligned with company targets, strategic goals, and initiatives. You are expected to be part of the senior leadership team responsible for driving performance across a high-volume, multi-store channel.
Key responsibilities include preparing and executing store productivity plans to achieve or exceed customer penetration, spend targets, and market share growth. You will lead Category Managers to work with global and division merchants to execute merchandising strategies, ensure strong brand and assortment knowledge, and communicate priorities effectively to sales teams. The role also involves driving the local promotional calendar in collaboration with merchandising, marketing, and relevant teams; ensuring promotions are executed as scheduled; coaching and mentoring Category Managers; partnering with the General Manager to maximize sales productivity and support exceptional customer service; and contributing to lease/brand business relationships and related in-store integration activities.
You will maintain strong partner relationships within the location, monitor competitor activity, and participate in sales forecasting as requested by the General Manager. The role supports proposal development for existing and potential locations alongside internal teams as needed, and emphasizes fostering a positive work environment aligned with company values and local practices. Requirements include a bachelor’s degree minimum and substantial retail management experience in luxury and/or consumer goods, with leadership responsibility for teams; the ideal profile reflects a strong entrepreneurial mindset and proven ability to drive high-performing sales outcomes and improve staff retention, development, and productivity.
