The client is seeking an Assistant Director, Part-Time Faculty Operations and Contracts, who will report to the Associate Provost. This role involves managing key processes within Academic Affairs related to part-time faculty employment and union membership. The Assistant Director will ensure administrative processes function efficiently, aligned with the principles of social equity and inclusion, environmental and climate justice, and equal access to resources. Core responsibilities include administering part-time faculty payments, contracts, and compensation in accordance with union agreements, troubleshooting pay issues, and updating administrative resources to reflect salary and workload changes.
This position requires a proactive problem-solver who can effectively interact with various campus departments, such as Payroll, Human Resources, and academic administrators, to facilitate faculty workload changes while ensuring compliance with union agreements and minimizing disruptions. The Assistant Director will collaborate with Human Resources to manage faculty status and benefits, develop and refine new course tables in partnership with departments and the Registrar's office, and engage in annual audits of employment changes. Additional tasks include maintaining faculty files, verifying employment, and executing annual and ad hoc member status reporting.
Candidates for this position should hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with a minimum of three years in an administrative or operational role, ideally within higher education or human resources. The role requires strong process orientation, analytical and risk management skills, and the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and an understanding of graphic design tools and Apple systems are needed. The successful candidate will exhibit strong communication skills, organizational abilities, and a capacity for independent and team-oriented work in a high-impact, deadline-driven environment.
