the client seeks a business development leader to support corporate practice growth through strategic work with elite attorneys and a strong business development function. In this role, you will partner with practice leaders and senior leadership to shape business development strategies and market positioning, while providing trusted guidance that strengthens the client’s presence in key markets.
Responsibilities include collaborating with practice leaders to develop and implement business development strategies for corporate practices; conducting market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive insights; and managing the preparation and coordination of proposals, pitches, and client presentations. You will develop and maintain relationships with key clients and stakeholders, lead and coach a team of direct reports, oversee and analyze business development initiative performance to ensure goals are met, and provide strategic guidance on marketing campaigns and branding efforts for the department.
Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in a related field and 10+ years of experience in the legal industry with relevant corporate practice group experience (such as M&A, private equity, capital markets, or growth/venture activities). The role also calls for demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience, strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to engage credibly with partners internationally, and the capacity to manage deadlines and shifting priorities in a high-pressure environment while working effectively in a diverse team.
