Description

the client seeks a strategic, principled, and collaborative leader to serve as its next Assistant Dean for Admissions. Reporting to the Dean and acting as the chief admissions officer, the Assistant Dean will provide leadership and oversight for all aspects of JD and LLM admissions. This role offers the opportunity to steward a highly selective admissions process while advancing the client’s commitments to academic excellence, access, and community.

The Assistant Dean will lead admissions strategy and decision-making in a way that reflects the client’s defining characteristics, balancing continuity with thoughtful adaptation to a changing legal education landscape. As the legal profession and applicant populations evolve, the Assistant Dean is expected to exercise independent judgment, communicate transparently, and guide admissions practices with integrity and care. The role includes leading the admissions team and fostering an approach that is personal and judgment-driven.

The Assistant Dean will collaborate closely with colleagues across the law school, including faculty, senior administrators, marketing and communications, and financial aid, to support recruitment, yield, and the articulation of the client’s value to prospective students. Responsibilities will include leading admissions, recruitment, and enrollment for the JD and LLM programs; inspiring and managing a service-driven, student-centered admissions team; building trusted partnerships across the campus community; and applying creativity, judgment, and rigor to technology, data, and emerging tools in admissions. The Assistant Dean will also serve as a visible external representative and ambassador, contributing to broader conversations about access, assessment, and the future of the field.
