Description

the client seeks a strategic, principled, and collaborative leader to serve as its next Assistant Dean for Admissions. Reporting to the Dean and serving as the chief admissions officer, the Assistant Dean will provide leadership and oversight for all aspects of JD and LLM admissions. This role supports the advancement of academic excellence, access, and community through stewardship of a highly selective admissions process and the application of independent judgment grounded in integrity and care.

the Assistant Dean will lead admissions strategy and decision-making in a way that reflects a collegial culture and a highly personal, judgment-driven admissions experience. As legal education, applicant populations, and market dynamics evolve, this leader will balance continuity with thoughtful adaptation, and will communicate transparently while guiding admissions practices with consistent standards. The Assistant Dean will serve as a visible representative of the client in broader admissions and legal education communities, contributing to conversations about access, assessment, and the future of the field.

the Assistant Dean will lead a dedicated admissions team and collaborate closely with colleagues across the client, including faculty, senior administrators, marketing and communications, and financial aid, to support recruitment and yield efforts and to present a compelling and authentic case to prospective students. Key priorities include leading the strategy and execution of admissions, recruitment, and enrollment for the JD and LLM programs; inspiring a service-driven, student-centered admissions team; building trusted partnerships across the community; applying creativity and rigor to technology, data, and emerging tools in admissions; and serving as an external ambassador for the client.
