The client seeks a strategic, collaborative, and visionary leader to serve as Assistant Dean (AD) within a university library system. Reporting to the Dean and serving as a member of the senior leadership team, the AD will help shape how the libraries advance the institution’s mission of research, teaching, and community engagement. This is a leadership role with responsibility for developing library priorities and strengthening the libraries’ role as a knowledge hub and innovation partner for the academic community.
The AD will lead a broad portfolio covering research support, teaching and learning, user services, assessment, and collection strategy, with the goal of positioning students and researchers for success in an evolving information landscape. The role includes direct responsibility for multiple departments within the central campus libraries, including subject librarians, access services, and collection development and management. The AD is expected to collaborate closely with faculty, students, staff, and external partners to align library services with academic needs and continuous improvement efforts.
