The Assistant Auditor General, Performance Audits reports to the Auditor General and is a member of the Executive Committee, contributing to strategic issues and overall office direction. They oversee planning and execution of complex performance audits, developing multi-year audit plans and ensuring professional standards are consistently applied. The role involves producing timely, relevant, and accurate reports for the Legislature, fostering collaboration across ministries and agencies, and representing the Auditor General with integrity and professionalism.Responsibilities include identifying emerging strategic issues, administering the office, and ensuring audits are conducted in accordance with the Auditor General Act. The Assistant Auditor General plays a key role in maintaining transparency and accountability, while also working to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of government operations. This position requires strong leadership skills, the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders, and a commitment to upholding professional standards in audit practices.
