The client is seeking an Assistant/Associate Vice President (AVP) for Institutional Effectiveness to provide strategic leadership and oversight for the university’s institutional effectiveness framework. This role will ensure alignment between institutional planning, academic and administrative assessment, and data-informed decision-making in support of the organization’s mission and strategic priorities. The AVP will advise senior leadership and collaborate across divisions to foster a culture of evidence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include providing vision and direction for institutional effectiveness, assessment, and accreditation activities. The AVP will lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of institutional effectiveness plans aligned with the organization’s strategic plan, and serve as a senior advisor on institutional performance, outcomes, and improvement strategies. The role will coordinate and manage regional and programmatic accreditation processes, act as the institutional liaison to accrediting agencies, and lead preparation of self-studies, compliance reports, and reaffirmation processes, including development and ongoing assessment of the institution’s Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) in alignment with applicable requirements.
The AVP will oversee institutional assessment processes across academic programs, administrative units, and co-curricular areas, ensuring results are used to inform planning, resource allocation, and improvement efforts. Responsibilities also include training and guidance for faculty and staff on assessment methodologies, administering and analyzing institutional surveys (such as NSSE and related feedback instruments), and translating findings into actionable insights for decision-making. The role will direct the collection, analysis, and reporting of institutional data, maintain data integrity, accuracy, and accessibility, and support required external reporting activities such as IPEDS and state reporting obligations.
