Description

The client is seeking a highly creative, hands-on Art Director to serve as a singular creative leader across Digital Demand and Brand & Special Projects. This role focuses on directing high-quality creative output rather than people management, with a strong emphasis on delivering visually compelling, conversion-driven digital experiences. It offers high visibility and the opportunity to grow as the function scales.

Key responsibilities include leading and directing the development of on-brand creative assets across multiple digital channels. You will own the visual direction for email marketing (about 60% of output), overseeing promotional and transactional email campaigns for diverse audiences. You will also oversee and contribute to design for paid social (including carousel ads), Google Ads/display, web and landing pages, and other performance-focused digital campaigns, ensuring creative is optimized for engagement, conversion, and brand consistency.

You will partner with marketing and brand stakeholders to bring campaigns to life, including occasional outlier projects such as digital menus, digital signage, and special creative activations. While the role is described as “work, not people,” you will set creative standards and guide execution across a team of designers through feedback, art direction, and inspiration without direct people management responsibilities. Required qualifications include leadership-level design experience (3–5 years), a strong portfolio covering high-volume email design, digital ads, and landing/web design with conversion-focused work, advanced proficiency in Figma, the ability to direct creative across channels and audiences, experience working with external vendors or distributed design resources, and a background in hospitality or a related consumer-facing industry (preferred/possibly required). Additional “nice to have” qualifications include experience supporting global marketing efforts and familiarity with designing for multiple markets and localized audiences.
