the client provides 360° search solutions to the global commodities markets, with coverage across major participants in commodity trading and related financial services. the client is working with an international agricultural trading organization to recruit a Head of Compliance to lead enterprise compliance efforts and help ensure adherence to applicable regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities include developing and implementing a comprehensive compliance strategy aligned with company goals, overseeing compliance policy development, and managing ongoing compliance risk through regular risk assessments and mitigation planning. the Head of Compliance will establish and maintain internal controls, monitoring mechanisms, and reporting systems to track compliance activities, identify and report violations, and recommend corrective actions. the role also involves serving as the primary point of contact for regulatory bodies, promoting an ethical culture, and developing an incident response plan for timely resolution of compliance issues.
The Head of Compliance will stay informed about industry trends and provide compliance performance reporting to senior leadership and the Board of Directors, including highlighting areas of concern and opportunities for improvement. Qualifications include a master’s degree in a related field, demonstrated experience in compliance within the commodity trading space (typically 10+ years), and strong tax compliance knowledge. Advanced knowledge is expected across customs regulations, complex classification, origin determination, and free trade program management.
