The client is seeking purpose-driven executives to join its advisory Board of Directors. The board provides essential guidance to support organizational growth and increase impact in local communities, with emphasis on improving outcomes for children, families, and young adults—particularly those dealing with emotional and behavioral challenges and those transitioning from state services. Ideal candidates have backgrounds in areas such as marketing, children’s mental health, lived experience related to the foster care system, and/or legislative or policy work.
As the organization scales its services, board participation is expected to support programmatic expansion of evidence-based approaches that have demonstrated strong outcomes and may align with federal matching funding opportunities. The client’s efforts also focus on supporting young adults as they transition out of care through programs that address needs beyond traditional child welfare services. Board members are expected to help strengthen philanthropic and community support, particularly during periods when funding pressures may affect service delivery and long-term sustainability.
Board members will promote and support the client’s mission, advocate for proven solutions across child welfare, children’s mental health, and juvenile justice systems, and lead New England–specific initiatives that contribute to local and broader success. Responsibilities include serving as an inspirational champion, assisting with annual fundraising targets and long-term sustainability, cultivating influential relationships and partnerships, and advising on advocacy strategy based on knowledge of human services and government landscapes. Board members are also expected to engage with client programs through annual volunteer involvement and to help reinforce a culture of inclusion and belonging.
