The client is seeking a full-time instructor to lead assigned adult education classes in language arts, social studies, science, and math, supporting learners in preparing for the GED and other individual goals. The instructor will use a provided standards-aligned curriculum and align teaching with agency priorities to ensure a high-quality learning experience. This role includes delivering instruction in designated locations, with the option for in-person and/or remote teaching.
Key responsibilities include teaching assigned classes, providing student support and referrals to address barriers and transition needs, arranging for student assessment and evaluation, and creating standards-aligned lesson plans and instructional materials while maintaining required documentation in a centrally accessible system. The instructor will also support program improvement and compliance by participating in professional development and training, collecting and analyzing student performance data (including attendance hours, assessment results, learning objectives, feedback, and outcomes) to support state and federal requirements and continuous improvement, and monitoring progress to resolve issues related to compliance.
The instructor will collaborate with internal teams and external partnerships, follow agency protocols for effective service delivery, and provide local and regional leadership through subject-matter expertise. Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in education or a related field, with experience teaching adults preferred. The position requires strong interpersonal skills, the ability to build positive relationships with diverse stakeholders, demonstrated problem-solving ability and flexibility, and eligibility to complete required clearances; the work involves some evening hours, use of a personal vehicle for local travel, and the physical ability to perform desk/computer work and lift, pull, or push up to 40 pounds.
