Waichiro Hayashi is the Managing Partner of Hayashi Consulting, a Tokyo-based executive search and leadership advisory firm he founded in 2003. He has more than three decades of deep corporate leadership, technical business development, and executive talent advisory experience across Japan and the broader Asia-Pacific region. Prior to fully focusing on his independent practice, Waichiro partnered with other leading international executive search networks, serving as a Partner at August Leadership, a Managing Partner at NGS Global, and a Partner at Heidrick & Struggles. Before transitioning into executive talent acquisition, he built a successful career leading commercial and research strategies for multinational technology and industrial conglomerates, notably as the Managing Director of Science and Technology for Asia at United Technologies Research Center and as a Business Development Manager at Honeywell Process Solutions. Waichiro holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from Columbia University and a Master of City Planning in Architecture and Urban Planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He was also a Doctor of Philosophy candidate in Urban Engineering at the University of Tokyo.
