Véronique Parkin CA(SA) is a Partner at Heidrick & Struggles and leads the firm’s CEO, Board, Financial Services, and Financial Officers practices across sub-Saharan Africa. Operating from the Johannesburg office, Véronique brings more than 33 years of continuous, elite executive search and leadership advisory experience to her practice. She specializes in C-suite and board-level placements for local and pan-African enterprises, with deep expertise executing mandates across South, East, and West Africa. Since being elected Partner in 1999, she has curated an exceptional track record placing Chief Executives, Financial Directors, and Non-Executive Directors in diverse sectors, alongside a specialized passion for shaping leadership teams within the education sector. Véronique established her foundational business acumen within the corporate finance and accounting landscapes. Prior to her executive search career, she served as the Divisional Finance Manager for Corporate Finance at Anglo American, directing financial strategy, valuations, and project financing for the group’s Gold Division. She also operated as an Audit Manager for KPMG South Africa (then Peat Marwick), where she authored the firm’s internal technical practice manuals and spearheaded training programs. Véronique is a registered Chartered Accountant, CA(SA). She holds a Bachelor of Commerce (B. Com.) and a Bachelor of Accountancy (B. Acc.) from the University of the Witwatersrand, where she also served as an academic tutor in the departments of Applied Mathematics and Accountancy.
