Svend Olling joined the Copenhagen Office of TRANSEARCH as a Partner in 2026. He has a strong focus on Technology, Foreign Trade, Public Affairs and Public Private Partnerships and finds senior level talent for a wide variety of multi-national and semi-public clients. He was a Danish diplomat for more than 25 years, posted to Danish Embassies in Washington, Berlin, Dhaka, Ankara, Cairo and Seoul; in the last four postings as Ambassador, and always with a strong focus on Economic Diplomacy. In Denmark, he worked on European Affairs and later headed the Export Promotion Department of the Foreign Ministry. Svend has been a lead investor in several Danish tech startups and serves on the board on a number of companies and organisations. Svend holds an MSc in Economics from the University of Copenhagen and completed several executive programs at Harvard University’s Kennedy School. He is a wine enthusiast and a member of several prestigious wine guilds. He has visited more than 100 countries where he will often seek out historic sites. He is a Knight of the Royal Order of Dannebrog. He is fluent in Danish, English, German and French and is currently learning Turkish.
