Stephen Schwanhausser is the Global Practice Managing Partner for the Consumer, Private Equity, and Venture Capital Practices at Heidrick & Struggles in New York. Since 2019, he has led these global teams while maintaining a personal search practice focused on recruiting Board Directors, Chief Executive Officers, and Commercial Officers, alongside advising organizations on their overall human capital agendas. Stephen has spent over 20 years with Heidrick & Struggles, rising through the firm as an Associate, Senior Associate, Principal, and Partner before assuming his current leadership role. He currently serves as an Advisory Board Member for Forward Consumer Partners, a position he has held since 2023. Early in his career, he worked at Kraft Foods in various sales and trade marketing roles between 2003 and 2005. Stephen is a graduate of Bucknell University, where he earned a BA in Psychology and English with a minor in Religion, and served as the captain of the Division One swim team.
