About Ms. Han

Professional background In the field of competition law, I advise multinational and Chinese companies on antitrust investigations, merger control, competition compliance, and complex commercial arrangements. My experience includes assisting clients with investigations concerning resale price maintenance, cartel conduct, information exchange, dawn raid preparedness, and other vertical and horizontal competition issues; advising on proceedings before competition authorities in China, Australia, and Europe; and conducting merger control assessments and filings for cross-border joint ventures, acquisitions, and strategic collaborations. A significant part of my practice involves supporting Chinese companies in their international expansion. I advise clients on overseas market entry, regulatory risk assessments, distribution and dealership arrangements, commercial structuring, and multi-jurisdictional compliance. I regularly coordinate with local counsel across different jurisdictions to provide practical and integrated advice on overseas enforcement matters, supply and distribution models, consumer protection, product regulation, and other legal issues arising from cross-border operations. My experience spans a range of sectors, including aviation, technology, consumer products, automotive, medical devices, and advanced manufacturing. I also have experience in data protection, cybersecurity, and digital regulation, including advising on cross-border data transfers, data classification, and multi-jurisdictional compliance requirements under Chinese, EU, and Australian law. Furthermore, I hold certifications as a Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E) and a Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) issued by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). I am also certified as a Data Protection Officer (DPO) by the Exam Institute of Information Science (EXIN), including the specific certification EXIN DPO-PIPL for the Personal Information Protection Law of the PRC (PIPL). I am triple-qualified in China, Australia, and England and Wales. I hold a JD degree from the University of Melbourne in Australia, an LL.M (advanced) degree from Leiden University in the Netherlands, as well as a Master’s degree in International Law and a Bachelor’s degree in Law from Xiamen University. I am native in Mandarin and fluent in English.
