Randy Jayne is a Partner at Heidrick & Struggles in Washington, D. C., with a career at the firm spanning three decades. He previously led the Global Aerospace, Defense & Aviation Practice and co-founded the firm’s specialty practices in Semiconductors and Hardware & Systems. Randy has successfully placed over 100 CEOs across a spectrum ranging from startups to Fortune 100 corporations, as well as leaders for U. S. National Laboratories and major university engineering programs. His executive search expertise is informed by his previous experience as a company president and COO, including roles as President of McDonnell Douglas Missile Systems Company and President and COO of Insituform Technologies. A retired Major General of the Air National Guard with over 34 years of commissioned service, Randy’s background includes combat-ready pilot experience and senior leadership roles at Air Force Space Command. His public service record includes serving as Associate Director for National Security & International Affairs at the Office of Management and Budget and as a staff member on the National Security Council under two presidential administrations. He has served on the boards of public companies like CAE and various national security organizations. Randy holds a PhD in National Security Policy from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science from the U. S. Air Force Academy.
