R. Stanton Hales is an Of Counsel at Academic Search, Inc., bringing nearly 19 years of experience to the higher education executive search landscape. Since joining the firm in 2007, he has served as a Senior Consultant and currently as Of Counsel, where he functions as an independent consultant on executive search mandates for academic institutions. Prior to his career in executive search, Dr. Hales served as the President of The College of Wooster for nearly 12 years, from 1995 to 2007. His earlier career in academic administration includes 17 years as the Associate Dean of the College at Pomona College. A scholar by training, he holds a B. A. in Mathematics from Pomona College and both an M. A. and a Ph. D. in Mathematics from Harvard University.
