Nicola is the Managing Partner in New Zealand and a member of our Leadership Team. Nicola has 20 years of executive search experience across the UK and New Zealand. In New Zealand Nicola leads the Financial Services, Professional Services, Property, Healthcare and Education sectors at Board, CEO and executive team. Nicola began her career as a lawyer with Russell McVeagh before moving to the United Kingdom, where she practised law at Sky TV. In 2006, she joined the professional services recruitment company SSQ and remained here until her return to New Zealand. During this period, Nicola also founded a luxury bespoke jewellery business, which she sold to one of New Zealand's leading jewellers, Sutcliffe, in 2018. Before joining Johnson Partners, Nicola was a Partner at the executive search firm Hobson Leavy. Nicola holds a BA/LLB from the University of Auckland and a Postgraduate Diploma in Management from Birkbeck, University of London. She is a qualified Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand and has completed the Advanced Certificate in Executive Talent Programme at Cornell University's ILR School. Nicola is also a former Director of the Global Board of The Association of Executive Search and Leadership Consultants (AESC), representing the world's leading executive search and leadership consulting firms.
