Getting Started
How do I set up my BlueSteps account?

After purchasing the program, you'll receive a confirmation email from NACD. This email will include a unique one-time link to set up your BlueSteps account.

When you click the link, you'll be guided through a three-step process to create your account. Once you've completed all three steps, your account will be submitted for review by the BlueSteps team.

The review process typically takes 2-3 business days. Once approved, your account will be active.

After that, you'll be able to log in and start working with your assigned Board Candidacy Advisor.

Where can I find my NACD ID?

You'll find your NACD ID in the same confirmation email from NACD that includes your account setup link.

I already have a BlueSteps account — can I use it for this program?

To access the resources for the Board Candidacy Advisor Program, you'll need a separate BlueSteps account created with a different email address than your existing BlueSteps account.

If you try to use the same email, our team will reach out to help you register with a different one.

Trouble logging in?

Make sure you're logging in at bluesteps.com/nacd — not the main BlueSteps site.

If you have multiple BlueSteps accounts, double-check you're using the correct email address for the NACD program.

Once you've submitted your account details, it typically takes 2-3 business days for our team to review and approve your account.

What happens on my first call with my Board Candidacy Advisor?

During your first session, your advisor will get to know you, discuss your board goals, and help outline your personalized path forward. Come prepared with questions and any materials you'd like reviewed!

How long does it take for my advisor to reply?

Our advisors are generally very responsive. You can expect a reply within 1-2 business days, though it may take a bit longer if they're reviewing your documents in detail.
