Luis Urbano is a partner in Heidrick & Struggles' Madrid office and a member of the global Consumer Markets Practice. He specializes in CEO and board searches across Spain and high-level search assignments within the Media & Entertainment, Hospitality & Leisure, and Retail & Direct to Consumer practices. Experience Luis has served in several leadership roles including leading the global Consumer Practice from 2010 to 2013 and the Europe & Africa Region from 2013 to 2019, being in both roles a member of the Global Executive Committee. Recently, he was interim managing partner of the Consumer Markets Practice in Europe and Africa. Prior to executive search Luis held several senior international positions in retail, media, and real estate including general manager of Thorn Emi Rental Spain (Radio Rentals), driving a major expansion which drastically increased turnover and profitability; VP operations of Virgin Retail Europe, retail chain specialised in video, music, and books; and managing director of Grupo Riofisa where he set up the shopping centres division. Today Riofisa is one of the leading developers in this market segment. Finally, Luis was CEO for Deluxe Media Services Europe a leading supplier for the media and entertainment business. He started his career as a finance director. Luis is a member of C�rculo de Empresarios (Spanish Entrepreneurs Association) and guest speaker at business schools as ESADE, Instituto de Empresa and IESE.
