About Dr. Martin
Lizbeth J. Martin, Ph.D., completed her position as Interim Provost and Senior Vice President at Gonzaga University in May 2019 prior to joining Academic Search as Senior Consultant in June. A licensed psychologist since 1986, Dr. Martin has served as a research associate at the Mental Research Institute (MRI) in Palo Alto, and as a trustee on many non-profit boards including the MRI Board of Trustees (as President), the Alliance for Aging Independently (as Treasurer), the American Heart Association, and AchieveKids.
Dr. Martin taught in the Human Biology Program and the Department of Psychology at Stanford University. After completing a post-doctoral fellowship in Developmental Psychobiology in the Stanford Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science in the School of Medicine, Dr. Martin became a consultant to the pharmaceutical industry for five years before joining the faculty at Notre Dame de Namur University (NDNU) in Belmont, CA. In 2001, she was appointed the inaugural Dean of the new School of Sciences at NDNU, and in 2006, left NDNU to become Holy Names University’s Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of Faculty. In October 2016, she was promoted to Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs with the added responsibility for University Advancement prior to her interim appointment at Gonzaga.
Dr. Martin received her bachelor’s degree from Brown University and her doctorate in psychology from Stanford University.
