Prior to joining RSAcademics as a Senior Consultant, Jonathan was the Director of Finance (Bursar) at the King’s School in Macclesfield, a large independent day school in the north west of England. Jonathan’s remit extended beyond Finance with strategic and operational responsibility for HR, Estates, Catering, IT and commercial revenue generation. Jonathan co-led the transformation of the school as it moved from two town-centre sites to a new purpose-built 80-acre campus that opened in 2020. Jonathan led on the sale of the legacy sites and securing construction finance to fund the new King’s School campus in addition to negotiating and managing the Design & Build contract to deliver the new site. Jonathan started his career at Price Waterhouse where he trained as a chartered accountant before moving into management consultancy. He then worked in investment banking, corporate treasury and as Group Finance Director of a large construction company before joining King’s in 2004. As an experienced Director of Finance, Jonathan assisted in the recruitment of two Heads and four Chairpersons. Now a trained bursar appointment expert, Jonathan has worked on a variety of prep, and all-through bursar appointments.
