Based in New York, John is widely recognized as one of the premier consultants in the executive search industry, specializing in high-profile CEO and board director assignments for Fortune 500 companies and global corporations. He joined the firm in 2009 as the Managing Partner of the global CEO and Board practice, bringing an extensive track record of completing hundreds of searches at the highest levels of corporate governance. Prior to Heidrick & Struggles, John was a core member of the CEO and Board services practices at Spencer Stuart. His earlier professional background includes senior management roles in the advertising industry at Grey Group and Foote, Cone & Belding (FCB). John is a frequent author and advisor on issues of board refreshment and CEO succession strategy. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Journalism and an MBA from the University of Oregon.
