John Mitchell is a Partner at Heidrick & Struggles, where he brings over 25 years of premier executive search and leadership experience to the Healthcare and Life Sciences practices. Based in Florida, John previously served as the Global Managing Partner for the firm’s Healthcare and Life Sciences Practice, overseeing worldwide operations while personally leading high-stakes CEO and Board-level mandates. Before joining Heidrick & Struggles in 2015, he spent over 16 years at Spencer Stuart, where he was the Global Practice Leader for Private Equity and the Life Sciences Practice Leader for the Americas. His deep expertise in private equity includes placing Operating Partners and CEOs within healthcare-focused portfolio companies globally. John’s perspective is further informed by his tenure as a Board Member for Golden Living, a $2.5 billion healthcare services provider. He holds a BSBA from Bowling Green State University, where he was highly involved in campus leadership, serving as a Student Representative to the Board of Trustees and President of the Interfraternity Council.
