  • What is the AESC Search Firm Directory

    The AESC Search Firm Directory is available to BlueSteps Premium Services members. Our Directory contains comprehensive and detailed information about AESC vetted executive search firms and executive recruiters including company profiles and contact details by region, industry and functional expertise. BlueSteps members can identify search firms and recruiters who specialize in their industry, function and geographic location.

  • Who will see my Career Profile and resume/CV?

    Your career information is exclusively accessible to retained executive search and leadership consulting firms that have been vetted to quality and ethical standards by AESC, the global standards-setting body for the executive search profession. AESC qualified executive search firms are committed to the highest professional practices in the profession, acting in the best interests of their clients, candidates and the community-at-large. Learn more about the AESC member Code of Professional Practice or here for the AESC Candidate Bill of Rights. BlueSteps also has a strict confidentiality policy upheld by AESC member firms to ensure that your information will not be shared with any third parties.

  • Does BlueSteps feature jobs?

    BlueSteps offers members access to featured open executive searches and executive-level jobs and board positions from around the world, all in one place. Many of these positions are shared with BlueSteps exclusively by AESC member executive search firms. These firms conduct more than 100,000 senior-level executive searches each year. The searches conducted by AESC member firms are typically confidential and never publicly advertised on job boards. Since most executive searches are confidential, search consultants prefer to search BlueSteps member candidate profiles rather than post an open search to find prospective candidates. However, our featured searches aggregate those positions which are advertised all in one place, for your convenience.

  • What type of firms are part of the AESC?

    AESC members represent the highest quality firms in 1,450+ offices in 70+ countries. AESC membership is highly selective and AESC member search firms commit to high professional standards as set within the AESC Code of Professional Practice. Organizations retain AESC members to serve as trusted advisors, filling senior level management or specialized professional positions around the world. AESC members search BlueSteps member candidate profiles to source potential new talent across a broad range of industries and job functions internationally.

  • How much does membership cost?

    BlueSteps Core Membership is a lifetime benefit and costs a one-time fee of $289.00 USD (or regional equivalent). Additional Premium Services are included in your first six months of membership, then renew on an annual basis.

About Registration

  • What are the prerequisites for becoming a member of BlueSteps?

    BlueSteps members are senior executives, director level through C-Suite, earning at least $150,000 USD (or regional equivalent). The salary criteria is a benchmark for the type of experience and seniority our executive members possess. Executive search firms typically handle searches with a minimum salary of at least $150,000 USD (or equivalent, except in non-profit board searches) and typically much more, so to ensure that we maintain a high caliber network of top executive talent, our service is exclusively for senior-level executives or those on their way to the C-Suite.

  • What should I do if I've been locked out of registration?

  • How long does it take to complete registration?

    It takes approximately three minutes to fill in the registration information, career profile data and submit your resume/CV.

  • What file format(s) does BlueSteps accept for my resume/CV?

    All uploaded documents are automatically converted to PDF.   • My desired job function and/or industry is not listed within the Career Profile options. What should I do?

    Please choose the closest option available. Our advanced search tool, as used by AESC member search firms when conducting searches via BlueSteps, allows researchers to input keywords and phrases within the candidate search criteria that will be matched against information found within both your profile AND resume/CV. AESC member firms have access to your full career data via the search tool.

  • I received a promo code for BlueSteps. Where do I enter it?

    Before you are prompted to enter your credit card details during the payment stage of registration you will see an "Enter Promo Code" link under the shopping cart. Click this link to enter your promo code, then click Submit before entering your credit card details.

  • My credit card information isn't working, what should I do?

    Please try entering your details again, ensuring that the credit card number is entered without any spaces or dashes between groups of numbers. Double check that the expiration date and CVV are correct. Only click the submit button once; please be patient while your card is processed to prevent double charges.

    Please note that BlueSteps accepts American Express, Master Card, and Visa as well as PayPal. American Express purchases must be in USD.

    If your card information is rejected again this may be due to a problem with the credit card provider. We suggest calling the number on the back of the card for support. Alternatively, we can attempt to process the payment manually.   • My browser will not allow me to complete the registration process, how can I fix this?

    Please clear your Temporary Internet Files and ensure Cookies are enabled. Try performing a hard refresh (CTRL + F5).
