Charalambos Syrounis has 30 years of experience in providing audit and advisory services at KPMG and became a partner in 2018. Until March 2023, he was in the audit department of KPMG where he also served as its head from March 2019-November 2021. He is currently responsible for the Accounting Advisory Services Department and the Forensics department. At the same time, he is the head of the Financial Services Department. He serves our Firm's Professional Services Department on IFRS issues, mainly on IFRS 9. During his career, he has worked extensively in the fields of banks and other companies in the financial sector, shipping, energy companies and large groups of listed and unlisted electricity and utility companies, with specialization in External Audit, Internal Audit, Forensic Investigations, Sustainability Services, ELP, IFRS, US GAAP, IPOs & Offerings. He studied at the Athens University of Economics and holds an MSc in Economics from Lancaster University in England. He is a Certified Auditor and Member of the Institute of Certified Auditors of Greece as well as a Member of the Accounting Standards Board (SLOT) from 2018-2023.
