Gregory Lau is the Head of the Board Advisory Practice at RSR Partners and a senior member of its Board Recruiting Practice, where he has been serving since 2013 in Greenwich, Connecticut. He also supports the firm’s Sport and Human Resources Practice teams and brings more than 30 years of corporate governance experience, working closely with chairmen, CEOs, and nominating and governance committees on board composition and director recruitment. Prior to joining RSR Partners, he spent a 40-year career at General Motors from 1972 to 2012, where he most recently served as Executive Director of Global Compensation and Corporate Governance within the company’s global HR function. During his tenure at GM, he held multiple senior governance and compensation roles, including Secretary of the Executive Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors and later Secretary of the Directors and Corporate Governance Committee. He was also Assistant Treasurer overseeing compensation, governance, benefits, and risk management. He has served on several governance and advisory boards, including the National Association of Corporate Directors and the Committee for Economic Development.
