Ellen Landers is a senior advisor in Heidrick & Struggles’ Atlanta office and a member of the Social Impact Practice. She works closely with boards and senior leadership teams at mission-oriented organizations to provide counsel on executive leadership, organizational strategy, and board effectiveness. Experience Ellen conducts a wide range of searches for universities and colleges, including chancellors, presidents, provosts, functional vice presidents, general counsels, and deans. She also works with foundations, government agencies, associations, and other nonprofits on executive level assignments and related advisory services. Prior to joining Heidrick & Struggles in 1996, Ellen was assistant general counsel for the State Bar of Georgia, handling a variety of legal and policy issues. Earlier in her career, she practiced law with Smith, Gambrell & Russell. Education University of Georgia School of Law, JD Wake Forest University, BA, with Honors Harvard Business School, Certificate in Nonprofit Management Hogan Assessment Certification Philanthropy and Service Ellen participates in professional and community activities, serving as a board member at the Grady Health Foundation and Hands On Atlanta. She is an advisory board member at the Georgia Justice Project and the Atlanta Chamber of Commerce. Ellen previously served as a member of the Wake Forest College Board of Visitors.
