About Mr. Blyth

Ed Blyth is a Consultant at Preng & Associates, based in London. Since 2006, he has specialized exclusively in the energy executive search space, becoming a trusted advisor to investors, asset owners, and multinational corporations. Ed’s expertise spans the entire energy value chain—from traditional Upstream Oil & Gas and Conventional Power to the rapidly evolving sectors of Nuclear, Renewables, and clean energy technology. He is recognized for his ability to navigate the "new energy landscape," helping clients integrate ESG priorities and emerging technologies into their leadership strategies. Ed’s career is defined by his deep global networks and a proven ability to attract and move talent across international borders. Before joining Preng & Associates in 2019, he held senior leadership and practice lead roles at several highly respected search firms, including Redgrave, Holtby Turner, and Commodity Appointments, where he was responsible for establishing the Upstream Oil & Gas practice. His earlier tenure at The Curzon Partnership saw him leading international searches for natural resource companies, providing him with a sophisticated understanding of core energy markets in EMEA, the Americas, and beyond. Ed holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from the University of Sussex. This academic background, combined with two decades of industry-specific recruitment, allows him to provide clients with unique insights into the geopolitical and macroeconomic factors affecting the global energy workforce. Whether working with agile start-ups or large-scale multi-nationals, Ed focuses on identifying the specific skill sets required to drive business growth and operational stability in a competitive, transition-focused market. Outside of his professional mandates, he remains an active participant in the energy dialogue, focusing on how leadership must evolve to meet the challenges of decarbonization and energy security.
