About Ms. Mason

Disa Mason is a Consultant at Academic Search, Inc., where she has spent over two decades specializing in executive recruitment for the higher education sector. With a career at the firm spanning more than 20 years, Disa is a veteran of the search process, expertly navigating the complexities of identifying and placing high-impact leaders in academic institutions. Her deep institutional knowledge is paired with a strong focus on project management and CRM, ensuring that search committees receive highly organized and strategically aligned support. Disa’s professional perspective is enriched by her experience in both the corporate world and international relations. Between 2021 and 2023, she served as the Assistant Director of the American Academic Leadership Institute (AALI), further solidifying her expertise in leadership development. Before entering the academic search field, she spent nearly a decade at the Campbell Soup Company in various senior category management and business manager roles, where she developed a sharp analytical approach to market needs and stakeholder management. Additionally, her early career as a Cultural Liaison for the JET Program in Japan provided her with a global outlook and a refined ability to bridge cultural and organizational gaps. Disa holds an MBA in Marketing from The University of Texas at Austin and a BA in East Asian Studies from Vanderbilt University. This unique blend of CPG-level business acumen and 20 years of academic search experience makes her an invaluable partner for institutions seeking transformative leadership.
