About Mr. Selchen

Based in Houston, David Selchen advises boards, CEOs, and executive teams at critical inflection points in organizational evolution, addressing issues such as CEO succession, executive transitions, leadership performance, cultural integration, and enterprise-wide change. As a member of Russell Reynolds Associates' Board and CEO Advisory Partners practice, he works globally across sectors'including industrial and natural resources, technology, financial services, and business and professional services'with a particular focus on transformation-intensive environments. David draws on more than two decades of experience at the intersection of strategy, leadership, and transformation, with a career that blends entrepreneurship, senior executive experience in global corporations, and leadership advisory work. He began his career in consulting, ultimately serving as a Managing Director at a global leadership advisory firm, where he led the Houston and Gulf Coast operations. He then held senior leadership roles at Hewlett-Packard and BP, followed by serving as Chief Learning Officer for Reliance Industries in India, and later in Senior Vice President roles at CBRE and USAA. Prior to joining Russell Reynolds, he founded January Leadership, a boutique advisory firm, and served as a strategic partner to executive teams across global organizations, founder-led businesses, and private-equity-backed ventures.
