David Krahe serves as the Managing Partner for the firm's Dallas office. He is a senior leader within the Global Healthcare sector and the Global Medtech practice. He leads several of the firm's largest client relationships focusing on high-profile searches for CEO, COO, CCO, and CTO roles. He advises boards through succession planning, recruitment of new directors, and C-Suite succession. David is certified in the Hogan Developmental Survey, and 16PF psychometric analysis. He has extensive experience across Asia, Europe and the Americas, advising clients on senior-level appointments. With a deep domain expertise in the global MedTech market, he recently advised the Boards of two large-cap MedTech companies on the appointment or succession of their CEOs. Notably, he has conducted senior executive assessments for one of the largest healthcare IPO's. He regularly leads benchmarking for clients to identify experience and skills gaps within existing teams and analyze whether they have the right leadership team to help meet their strategic objectives. Before joining Russell Reynolds, David was a member of the leadership team at St. Jude Medical. While there, he oversaw a successful turnaround of the Neuromodulation Division, held multiple commercial leadership roles across product management, sales, and marketing, and ultimately helped position the company for a $25B sale to Abbott Laboratories. Prior to his time in Medical Devices, David served as a nuclear engineer aboard a U. S. Navy fast-attack submarine. "You've got to get to the stage in life where going for it is more important than winning or losing" - Arthur Ashe David was born and raised in the Midwest. He earned a BS in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from the United States Naval Academy and an MBA from the Acton School of Business. David serves as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for foster children and is a member of the Executive Committee of Dallas CASA.
