A global bank is seeking a VP, Counsel to join their legal team, focusing on a wide range of banking contracts. The role will involve providing legal advice and services to business departments on commercial banking transactions, vendor arrangements, litigation matters, legal and regulatory requirements, and corporate governance issues. The VP, Counsel will draft, review, and negotiate contracts, advise on legal risks associated with deals, and assist with special projects as needed. The successful applicant must have a JD, be admitted to the NY State Bar, and have at least four years of experience working at a large law firm or in-house at a financial services institution. Fluency in Mandarin is a plus.
The ideal candidate will have experience drafting and negotiating contracts related to financing transactions, commercial lending, loan documents, and commercial credit documents. They should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, be a team player, and have relevant experience in dealing with a broad range of credit and finance transactions.
