Opportunity Details
The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) is seeking an independent Trustee (Policy) to join their Board. This role involves providing support, education, and guidance to the board, as well as challenging and pushing for rigorous scrutiny and implementation of policy changes. Candidates should have a proven track record in a senior role within a campaigning charity or NGO, as well as knowledge of campaign strategy, impact assessment, and political strategy development. Previous board experience is not necessary for this voluntary and unpaid role, which requires a minimum commitment of 5 days per year, including four full-day meetings and a strategy day.
Our client, a registered charity with a turnover of approximately 9m per year, has been advocating for accident prevention for over 100 years. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in strengthening the organization's policy and campaigns function following the appointment of a new CEO. Responsibilities include contributing to safety matters across various areas, such as road, leisure, water, and the home, and integrating new thinking in policy and campaigns. The ideal candidate will have experience managing charitable or campaigning organizations, a robust understanding of political processes, and a commitment to promoting safety and wellbeing for all.
